  • Overview

    The Applications Director is expert in Single Use Solutions and ABEC’s CSR® Solutions products, with strong knowledge of the biopharmaceutical clinical and commercial manufacturing industry.  S/he is the leader of the CSR Applications Team who are the primary interface between ABEC’s Sales organization and ABEC’s Engineering, Project Management, Technology, and Operations organizations.  The Applications Engineer is responsible to support Sales to close opportunities while insuring that the technical and commercial terms meet ABEC’s overall business needs. 

    Responsibilities

    • Develop Applications Team to be Expert in Single Use Solutions and associated Biopharmaceutical Applications as outlined below.
    • Lead Sales Effort in product strategies for identified opportunities.
    • Develop and Execute processes and procedures to enable effective demonstration and evaluation of CSR Solutions.
    • Support Sales as an expert at meetings with clients.
    • Train Sales on product capabilities and differentiation.
    • Review client Requests for Proposals.  Provide solutions to ABEC’s Project Management group for estimating.  Provide proposal content.
    • Review purchase orders/contracts.  Recommend acceptance of orders if technically and commercially acceptable.
    • Provide technical content for marketing tools (presentations, brochures, website content, etc.) for effective communication of ABEC product features, benefits, and differentiation.
    • Advise on new product and product improvement opportunities.
    • Support new product launches by providing marketing content, training Sales, and interfacing directly with potential customers.
    • Track competitor capabilities and activities.
    • Other duties as assigned by the VP CSR® Business Unit.

    Qualifications

    • BS Degree in Engineering.  MBA a plus.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry in process engineering, equipment engineering/design, and/or clinical/commercial manufacturing operations.
    • Prior experience in Applications/Product Management/Product Marketing/Sales strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of bioprocess equipment (fermenters, bioreactors, filtration, chromatography, CIP, Single Use Systems, etc.).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to travel approximately 50% globally.
